“if we are going to have white elephants so be it”….hmm and i used to think Tutu was a good man but with comments like this you can see he’s fully in the pocket of the SA power elites now.
ok, so who does really win?
i am about to get this documentary. What think is that it’s the big corporations that won, like fifa, coca cola, mcdonalds, for example. instead of the South African people.
@stopglobalswarming At least there won’t be any fucking Africans blowing Vuvuzela horns non stop for 90 minutes in every match. Their intelligence are really showing through with this. Its not even creating a atmosphere. Its just non stop noise with out a rythm.
Bitch all you want. Maybe next games will be played in Europe or Asia, and they will be grateful for the business and publicity, and won’t have the “African flavor”.
@Susy2240 Poverty will stay there because nogs run the country.
@dilkix Coz it wasn’t held in a black-ruled African country.
i didn’t hear about a movie about the 2006 world cup
@Susy2240 I think that what they’re getting at is the fact that the money used to build the stadium isn’t coming from FIFA but instead from the little public funding and resources that South Africa has. Im not sure if you’ve ever experienced extreme poverty, but hunger and disease don’t go away from a soccer match. No matter how many people watch it. Although soccer is a great sport.
What a horrible way of trying to take the glory out of the game. Poverty will be there weather the World cup takes place there or not, why not let them rejoice with the rest of the world and forget about social class for once. This is the biggest sport in the world. Soccer can do what no other sport has done which is bring the world together. It’s South Africas turn to take the world stage and I think they will enjoy it with the rest of us! Go South Africa!!!
so! what is the topic? mmmmmmm
