Jose Mourinho rumors that Andre may Leave Club
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that German international Andre Schurrle could leave the club in this transfer window.
The 24-year-old has seen very little first-team action since coming to Chelsea last summer for around £ 18 million from Bayer Leverkusen. Even though Schurrle helped Germany win the World Cup by making a crucial assist in the final against Argentina, he has failed to replicate the same form for Chelsea. Schurrle has scored four goals in 18 appearances this season, but most of his appearances have come late on as a substitute.
Mourinho feels that Schurrle has not done enough to warrant a place ahead of Eden Hazard or Willian, who are currently the first choice wingers at Chelsea. Chelsea are believed to be holding out for a £ 24 million offer from clubs interested in the German.
The likes of Wolfsburg are interested in taking him back to Germany and they are reportedly close to meeting this valuation. Wolfsburg signed another Chelsea star – Kevin De Bruyne – for a similar amount in the summer. The possibility of Schurrle returning back to Germany has increased after he was left out of the squad entirely for the FA Cup match against Bradford.
“The principle is that we would like him (Schurrle) to stay. The question is not to be allowed or not allowed. The question is to have a phenomenal offer and a player to be super keen of accept a new challenge in his career. We don’t want to sell our players. But for Schurrle to get a first team place he must start playing better than Eden Hazard and Willian. We have two knockout matches in three days, so we can after Tuesday we can be in four competitions or only two.Of course we want to try to be in all four,” said Mourinho.
