@ImNotADoctor5 i only read swedemason’s comment about having made it and not being mentioned in the tags, i’m hardly going to research a topic so that i don’t make a mistake on a youtube comment board.
@scottishlad1987 I never said anything about your overall intelligence, I just told you to think a little bit more about this subject. “pricks! copyright your shit mate!” is not exactly a clever point to make considering what’s obvious. Brief summaries of laws like the various Copyright laws can be found online, and read in a few minutes. Doing that before suggesting to “copyright your shit” would be advised, considering what’s in the video couldn’t be, and would still be deemed BBC’s property
@ImNotADoctor5 i never watched the show, so i never saw the credits. i never knew he got paid, and i never knew it was broadcast by the bbc, and i don’t know anything about what kind of quality of video is available to be edited. so as much as i think about it, i would never of really known what you know- don’t mistake knowledge on one specific subject as overall intelligence.
@scottishlad1987 Because I watched the show, and “Swede Mason” was credited at the end. Also, it’s impossible to get broadcast quality video like that, to edit, unless the broadcaster gave it to you. That and the little fact that the world’s biggest broadcaster wouldn’t just nick someone else’s work, it’s a little hard to get away with that sort of thing when you’re as big as the BBC.

@scottishlad1987 Swedemason was commissioned to make this, and was credited on the credits of the programme. He couldn’t copyright it, because he’s using BBC’s material in the mashup. BBC didn’t “steal” from him, they paid him and provided him with broadcast quality video to make it.

@scottishlad1987 It’s not like it was a contribution to the show that he was credited on broadcast for. It’s not like broadcast quality video isn’t BBC’s either.

@PjotrSpot I would be extremely surprised if he didn’t get paid. He wouldn’t have been able to get broadcast quality video any other way.

@PjotrSpot I doubt he was annoyed, more disappointed. But the cameramen, and the producers, and the commissioner (etc.) weren’t in the tags either. Not to sound rude, but tbh, as great as the video is, I think Swedemason was expecting more then what is typical.
He did get credit though, on the credit scroll of the broadcasted show. Which would have got far, far more viewers then 8000.

@wwenaveed Thieves? BBC commissioned him for this, they paid him so BBC would have the rights. I would assume whatever contract the BBC and Swede had didn’t say “and if you upload this on Youtube, you must have my username in the tags”.
